Beth Gadd is a Leeds based Visual Artist, specialising in 3D. Using themes such as objectification, and the psychological, Beth explores what makes us human. Influenced by the writings of Julia Kristeva, she often looks into the darker side of our minds.
Her work deals with The Self, and the effect that living in our current society has on us as individuals and social groups. She is particularly interested in the physical aspect of this, and her work is a response to issues such as the size zero culture, and what is typically considered to be 'ugly'. Beth favours abject materials, including wax and latex, and often experiments with less traditional mediums.
